Absolutely! This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this form of Theatre and become part of our community. Everyone is very welcome!
This gathering will be a great opportunity to make new friends and meet new people.
Certainly! It’s said that Playback Theatre is for those with no experience! It is a local, community-based form of Theatre, often made by ordinary people for ordinary people. You’re not expected to have theatre experience to learn Playback Theatre.
- Yes! We will need volunteers. The organizing committee will invite people with the appropriate profile. However, if you’d like to help in this way, please get in touch with us!
- To be a volunteer, you need to be available for an online meeting, which will take place a few weeks before the Gathering, and, of course, be prepared to miss some parts of the event when you’re on duty.
- Some of the tasks will include: assisting with pre-Gathering logistics (on October 31st); helping at the reception desk (welcoming and checking in attendees at the Gathering); organizing coffee breaks; supporting those facilitating workshops (preparing spaces, placing signage for workshop rooms); and photographic documentation of the event.
- If you’re excited to learn what goes on behind the scenes of organizing an Iberian Gathering and would like to contribute to making it an excellent event, please send us an email expressing your interest and telling us what motivates you!
- Volunteers will be entitled to a discount on their registration fee (even if they are already registered).

2) People who represent the Iberian (and global) community in its diversity;
3) People who have not yet had the opportunity to facilitate workshops at other Playback Theatre gatherings.

- The Iberian Playback Theatre Association is a non-profit organization. Our goal is to hold Gatherings that are as accessible and inclusive as possible.
- If the registration fee is what’s preventing you from coming to the Gathering, please contact us so we can send you an application form for an adjusted registration fee.
- The selection of individuals who will benefit from the adjusted fee will be coordinated by Elsa Maurício Childs (Ethics Officer of AITP), with support from the Executive Committee (António Vicente, Beatriz Amaral, and Nuno Amarante).
- All information about applicants (and whether they are accepted or not) will be kept absolutely confidential.

- We will do our best to accommodate people’s preferences, keeping groups and individuals together, just as we did at last year’s Gathering.
- The hostel has dormitories with 2, 4, 6, and 12 beds. There is only one dormitory with 12 beds, which will be reserved for the largest group.
- Room allocation will take place during the check-in at the Gathering, on a first-come, first-served basis.
- If any group of people wishes to organise themselves before the Gathering to stay together in a room, they can send us an email with that request. Rooms will only be assigned once the registrations of all those wishing to stay together have been validated.
- It is not possible to leave beds unoccupied. For example, one person cannot stay alone in a 2-bed dormitory. Nor can 3 people stay alone in a 4-bed dormitory.
- If you need a room with an accessible bathroom, please indicate this additional information in the registration form.
- If, for any reason, you can no longer attend the Gathering, you can request a full refund of your registration fee until October 5th.
- From October 5th to October 13th, refunds will be partial (50%).
- After October 13th, it will no longer be possible to cancel your registration for the Iberian Gathering with a refund.
Please send an email with your questions to eitp@aitplayback.org, and we’ll try to respond as quickly as possible. Please note that the Iberian Gathering is organized by volunteers.
